Do you find it difficult to relax, unwind, and simply “be” with yourself and others in a state of ease?

Relaxation doesn’t come naturally to me. Ironically, it’s something I need to “work at.” I’ve consulted countless blogs, articles, and videos that share principles and practices for relaxation, and they’ve been helpful to a point.
But relaxation practices are not equally rejuvenating. What leads to deep refreshment for one person might not prove to be helpful for someone else. Our practices of securing rest and refreshment require some fine-tuning and personalization.
Recently I came across an Instagram post by Jackie Brewster (@enneagramwithjb). I loved the specificity it offered by connecting specific relaxation practices to each Enneagram Type.
Did you find the suggestions helpful and accurate for your type? As an Enneagram 3 I’ve definitely noticed how immersing myself into a mentally stimulating hobby is one of the few things that has allowed me to disconnect from work and life stress. (I’m still working on the “unplug from social media” recommendation).
If you struggle with knowing how to rest effectively, fine-tuning your approach using the Enneagram might open up more effective strategies for you.
