7 Qualities of an Emotionally Healthy Church Board
"Healthy, thriving, flourishing churches have healthy, thriving, flourishing boards."

Pete Scazzero (Emotionallyhealthy.org) just released an incredible podcast on the seven qualities of emotionally healthy board members.Â
It's fantastic that I would strongly encourage any current or prospective church board members to listen to this episode multiple times over, and then make a plan to discuss it with their board colleagues. It's that good.Â
In just 30 minutes Pete provides an enormous amount of insight, encouragement, and challenge that church leaders need to take full ownership of. I plan to make this mandatory listening for any incoming board members moving forward.Â
The 7 Qualities:
The have a godly, growing spirituality.
They have clarity around their role.
They have a long range perspective.
They are prayerful ponderers (or discerners).
They are aware of their stories and histories and its impact on their leadership.
They ask difficult questions when appropriate.
They are humble learners.
Make sure to listen to the entire podcast. The wise and thoughtful perspectives offered throughout make it an essential resource for church leaders.
